Dragon Boat races at Xin din...Chu Yuan was a discouraged government minister. Because of a misunderstanding he committed suicide by drowning. The villagers jumped in their boats and rushed to save/find him. They threw sticky rice cakes (zhong zi) into the water so he would have something to eat. Well so the story goes anyway. So every year thereafter the people race their dragon boats and eat zhong zi in memory of Chu Yuan....  very brief version of the story!
